Anne M. Delaney, Ph.D., F-AAA, is an experienced audiologist and the owner of Delaney Hearing Center, where she provides compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals with hearing and tinnitus concerns. With over 25 years of experience, she specializes in the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of hearing disorders as well as the management of tinnitus.
Dr. Delaney has extensive expertise in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT), having trained under the renowned Jastreboff techniques, and has dedicated more than two decades to helping patients find relief from tinnitus. Her approach emphasizes clear communication, thorough diagnostic evaluations, and personalized treatment options that may include expert hearing aid fittings and amplification analysis.
Before establishing her private practice, Dr. Delaney served as a Senior Audiologist at the University of Virginia for 17 years, where she cared for patients, trained doctoral students, contributed to research, and developed the universal newborn hearing screening program still in use today. She later transitioned into private practice for eight years before founding Delaney Hearing Center.
Dr. Delaney earned her Ph.D. in Audiology with a minor in Neurophysiology from the University of Virginia in 2003, her Master’s Degree in Audiology from UVA in 1995, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross in 1990. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Delaney is deeply involved in her community, volunteering regularly at The Center (formerly The Senior Center). Originally from Connecticut, she moved to Charlottesville nearly 30 years ago and now enjoys hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, cheering on UVA basketball and soccer, and spending time with her husband and their four children, who are studying throughout Virginia.
